Fall is in the air

Well sort of, as it is still very green here.

Today was actually on the chilly side earlier in the day, and oddly enough, depending on which town we were in, the temp changed from needing a coat badly, to a long sleeve shirt would do just fine!

Being a weekday, the patches are no fun, we took Sass to one and nothing was going on and they wanted $9.00 a person for her to go down some slides with pumpkins next to them...Nooooo thank you. Crazy right? So we stopped off at this church that had a bunch of pumpkins lying around and we let Sass run wild. While there I got a couple pics of the girls. Not the best, but cute nonetheless. Here are my cute pumpkins...

My girl is pretty!

Sass is really into Lilo and Stitch and it got her to love "Coin Dancing" as she calls Hawaiian Hula. (a little FYI, Sass was born in Hawaii, though is not of Hawaiian decent, we just lived there at the time!) Unfortunately, when we lived there, she was too little to really get into the culture, we left when she was 18 months old. Even though I am happy to be on the East Coast, I kinda wish she was a little older before we left because I really think she would have enjoyed it so much. Well, she just adores the opening song and requests it on a daily basis, she even uses our iPhones to go on YouTube to watch it for a chance to dance!

So she loves all dresses and skirts that will help her "coin dance". I went to Wally World today to pick up a DVD combo pack I had a coupon for and saw these adorable little tutu like shirts for $5.00, awesome price right? I couldn't resist and got her one, best part about it in Hubby's point of view? No glitter! When we got home, naturally she was thrilled to have it and demanded to wear it immediately! I also bought her some thigh high socks (easier for her than tights), even though they don't match, I wanted to try them on her and she just looked adorable! Here is one of my favorite pics of her from this evening, and I put the rest into a storyboard that will be printed out a 16x20 to hang in the hallway leading to the girls' bedrooms. I just now need to think of something for my darling Sprout!

The M-C Family

Saturday was a beautiful day! The sun was shining, nice fall weather, not too hot, not to cold, just right! I just love fall, don't you? The only problem I have with it, is it's not long enough and winter bitter cold immediately follows and BRRR....I do not like the cold!

But cold weather was not the case on Saturday and we had a wonderful session. We waited until around 5:00pm to go out to the Occoquan Regional Park and the lighting was really nice. I like being able to have my families in the sun but not be glared out by the harsh light of afternoon sun, its so warm and beautiful. Originally they wanted to just have pics of their darling P, but with a little luck and a lot of suggestion, they agreed that it would be nice to have some family photos done as well! I really like how they turned out and I hope the family agrees, here is a little sneak peek of their session.

SOOC Friday

A friend of mine has on her blog, SOOC Wednesday's and I really liked her idea, so I am deciding to do it myself, but on Friday's. :) (check her out on the side, her name is Cheryle.) SOOC is the acronym for Straight Out Of the Camera, and I will share my settings with you as well!

I had a new photographer friend of mine come over today for a play date and had a wonderful time. Talked about photography, or photography group we are apart of and our children, it was really nice to enjoy some adult conversation! It is refreshing to talk with someone without reciting the ABCs or counting to 20. Don't get me wrong, I love my best friend, even though she is a 2 and a half year old little spunky one, but admittedly, very nice to have someone around who loves to do what I do and talk about it a lot!

We are planning for me to shoot her family, (in the manner of photography that is ;)) and I am very excited! I have a little shoot to do this Saturday as well that I am excited about....

The family I am doing this weekend is a very special family. I met T on a parenting forum when our little ones were 5 months old, and here it is 2 years later and are wonderful friends, even if we live hundreds of miles away. But she is special in that she and her husband F lost their precious son during her second trimester due to the Strep B infection. Usually, as you may know, if you carry this very common bacteria, during labor you just need to be given antibiotics to ensure your baby doesn't get it, but something with her caused the bacteria to climb up and attack her amniotic sac and caused her to miscarry. They later tried again and unfortunately the same thing happened with their little girl except that this little girl, P, survived. P was born at 27 weeks gestation at 2 lbs and 1 ounce and was in the NICU for some time. She had a very strong set of parents and a wonderful nursing staff that took such good care of her, and she is now a very smart, energetic and perfectly healthy 2 and a half year old girl, and I get the pleasure of taking their picture this Saturday! So come back to check out their pictures, I sure hope I do them proud!

So for today's SOOC picture that I started off my blog talking about is my cutetums little 3 month old I nicknamed on the internet, "Sprout". She was just happily playing on the floor with her little toys overhead and I just had to take a picture of her deliciousness!
